"Fantastic solution to make travel easier! Was so light to pack and worked in a shared transfer internationally with zero issues"

RideSafer Size Chart
The manufacturer emphasizes that fit and proper seat belt positioning is most important. Remember proper fit means the lap portion is laying on the lap.
The following size chart shows the specifications for Gen 5, Gen 6 pre-August 2026 Date of Manufacturer (DOM) and Gen 6 post-August 2026 DOM (not available yet). We also include general recommendation based on previous customer feedback. There are no physical or structural changes to the vests themselves.
If your child seems between sizes and you are using it with a lap-shoulder seat belt, look more at height, specifically torso height (see below for torso and waist measuring instructions).
Children at the higher end of the weight range/waist circumference may need an expansion panel as well.

How to measure:
Torso height is measured from top of thigh to shoulder when seated as shown.
Waist circumference is measured around the waist while seated (red line).
About the specification changes:
This is a voluntary, safety-driven manufacturer refinement — there are no physical or structural changes to the vests themselves.
Both the previous and new Gen 6 specifications fully comply with FMVSS 213b. After an internal review of skeletal development in younger children, the manufacturer chose to adopt a more conservative position than the regulation requires. The new ranges are calibrated against CDC growth data so that each size delivers a proper fit throughout its usage window, and they align with the updated U.S. federal standard (FMVSS 213a/213b).
Size specific updates:
- Extra Small:
-
Gen6 will not have an Extra Small (XS) size vest.Manufacturer will release Gen 6 XS vests for extra slim 3 year olds. Most 3-year-olds will fit best in a small size vest. Make sure to check your child's torso height and waist circumference measurements! Small remains the primary starting size for most children.
-
- Large:
- The size large has passed all compliance requirements by using only a single tether with the lap-only seat belt, so it can continue to be used with a lap-only seat belt as well as a lap-and-shoulder belt.
- Extra Large:
- Only be able to be used with a lap and shoulder belt. No lap-only seat belt capability as it will ship with a single tether.
- Upon request, dual tethers will continue to be available to international customers who need them, and for children with unique and special healthcare needs or traveling in vehicles with lap-only seat belts.
